A coroner in New York has ruled that Jeffrey Epstein died as the result of suicide by hanging.
According to reports in the US, a number of irregularities were found in the lead up to the 66-year-old’s death on August 10th.
Epstein who was facing a number of charges for the alleged abuse of underage girls – was taken off suicide watch after a week despite being found with marks on his neck.
It reported in the New York Times that two guards have since been suspended following Epstein’s death after they allegedly falsified a log to cover up their mistake.
The irregularities surrounding the financier’s death has now led to a FBI and Justice Department investigation.
