The incident occurred outside St Mary’s Catholic church, village of Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, at around lunchtime today.
Most of the attendees reportedly belong to the travelling community.
A man in his 60s sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was flown to hospital in a police helicopter but later died.
A second victim, a male in his 30s, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
