While the transport budget for the sick is on the firing line, it has emerged elsewhere that the national broadcaster spent almost €1,400 on taxis on a daily basis last year.
In total, RTE gobbled up half a million for taxis alone over the course of 2015, which amounts to over 70k more than the previous year, and almost 122k more than the one before.
Under RTE’s official policy, taxis are only to be used under ‘exceptional circumstances.’
Is this what our TV licence money is being spent on?
