One person arrested after a man gets stabbed to death in Dublin’s O’Connell Street today




Gardai have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in O’Connell St. in Dublin this morning.

The incident happened just after 1.30am, after a row broke out between two males near the Gresham Hotel.

It’s understood that a garda on the beat noticed the row and gave gardai a description of who he saw before he intervened along with members of the public who tried to help the man who got stabbed. He was rushed to the Mater Hospital where he died a short time later. A post mortem is due to be carried out today.

Another garda arrested the second man in Marlborough Street. He too was rushed to hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.

A large section of O’Connell St. remained closed for several hours to facilitate a forensic investigation.
