An online petition setup by members of the public calling for outspoken celebrity Katie Hopkins to be swapped for 50,000 refugees has managed to reach a staggering 55,000 signatures.
The petition which was setup on Change.org, has been gaining a large number of followers since it was created last week. The petition apparently calls for controversial Katie to be sent to Syria in exchange for 50,000 refugees. The news comes after the unpopular star sparked public outrage with a column in The Sun newspaper titled: “Rescue boats? I’d use gunships to stop migrants.”
However the petition hasn’t phased the former Apprentice star and she has shown remorse for her previous remarks. Instead she’s remained as vocal as ever on Twitter, even going as far as to tweet the link to her original article. The outspoken celebrity also annoyed fellow users by mocking their efforts to have her kicked out the country, saying: “Well done mes anges, you are really making a difference with your actions…..no, I mean – really.”
