A group of onlookers who tried to save a distraught mother and her 10-year-old son were left horrified after she jumped from a bridge with the boy in her arms.
According to reports in Colombia, the woman who has since been identified as Jessy Paola Moreno Cruz, 32, and her young son May Ceballos, were tragically killed after they fell 330ft from a bridge in Ibague, in central Colombia.
It is understood the distraught mother took her own and son’s life after they were made homeless as she was unable to pay her rent.
Although local police authorities made a number of attempts to talk Ms Ceballos down, she tragically ignored their pleas and both she and her son fell to their deaths.
It is believed that a number of officials and onlookers were left in tears following the incident.
Police say it was later revealed that the woman had been experiencing financial problems before her death.
