The comments of now suspended Israeli government minister, Amichai Eliyahu, stating that Palestinians should ‘go to Ireland or the deserts’ is revealing of how Ireland is perceived internationally, that is to say, as the butt of a joke.

Already, the Muslim, Arab neighbours of the Palestinian territories have ruled out accepting any refugees, even considering such a suggestion as tantamount to a declaration of war as they have learned the hard way since the 1967 Six-Day War about how destructive and destabilising accepting Palestinian refugees can be.

The profound naivety and short sightedness of the Irish governments’ open boarder policies has made us something of a laughingstock in the world and the disregard for potential security threats posed by the masses we are importing from the Third World seems to be lost completely on the Irish political and media establishment.

As tens of thousands march in London, Berlin, Paris, and other Western European cities calling for Jihad in reaction to the ongoing Hamas-Israel war, even leftist political stalwarts like German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are admitting that mass, unchecked migration from Islamic world into the West may have been a mistake.

In October, Titan of international politics Henry Kissinger, even remarked after seeing Jihadist protests in Germany that allowing mass migration into Europe and was likely a mistake.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that Ireland will not be admitting untold numbers of Palestinian refugees in the same fashion we welcomed and are still welcoming Ukrainians.

However, we know that should the EU come to an arrangement with Israel once it conquers Gaza completely to accept refugees, Varadkar will take his marching orders from Brussels and admit whatever number he is told to.

As horrendous as this situation would be, in pales in comparison to what could come about should the Israel-Hamas war spread into a full regional war involving groups and nations such as Hezbollah, Iran, Syria and others and the truly biblical refugee crisis this would result in.
