Opinion: Italy goes on lockdown as Varadkar and Harris allow THOUSANDS of Italians holiday in Dublin

You really couldn’t make it.

Italy, the most affected country from coronavirus in the WORLD outside of Asia was due to play Ireland in a Six Nations game on Saturday. The government have since put up to 10 MILLION Italians on lockdown in an effort to stop the widespread ramapant infection from going any further.

Presumably someone with half a brain managed to persuade Varadkar and Harris that it just mightn’t be the best idea ever to have thousands of Italians coming over from the most affected country in Europe, so the game rightly got cancelled.

But cancelling the game was absolutely pointless as Leo Varadkar and Simon Harris allowed THOUSANDS of Italians swan in to Dublin Aiport – COMPLETELY UNTESTED at the airport and free to visit wherever they liked, potentially coughing, sneezing and spluttering out of them for endless numbers of Irish people to catch covid-19 from.

You can’t really blame the Italians who came over. Yes, there’s an argument that the majority or Italian rugby fans come from Northern Italy – the most affected area – and they should have some self-responsibility but as one Italian person put; “there was no restrictions, we had our hotel and flights paid for so we decided to come anyway for a holiday.

The dangers lie in the fact that many of the Italians who came to Dublin may have no idea that they’re even infected yet but are widely spreading to the Irish public.

This one falls solely at the feet of Leo Varadkar and Simon Harris, so if you get infected in a couple of weeks time, well, let’s just say it’s more than likely you know who to thank.
