OPINION: Tony Holohan has never received a vote in his life yet he is still threatening the Irish public with more restrictions

Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has never received a vote in his life from the Irish public yet he’s dictated and threatened restrictions after restrictions for the past year and a half.

It’s time for Holohan to take a good step back and realise that he’s not running the show, he’s threats to the Irish people have lost their power and he needs to take a back seat now, the country must go on without any further restrictions being imposed or threats of the likes of lockdown.

Earlier this week, Holohan wasn’t happy with how things are going and sent an ominous letter to TDs in relation to Ireland’s future battle against covid.

Tony Holohan has said that people returning to their place of work must stay away if they have any covid symptoms. Likewise, they must self-isolate if they have any symptoms.

He said that social distancing, masks and self-isolation will remain for the Autumn and Winter.

Along with that, Holohan warned that regardless of a very high vaccine uptake in Ireland, further restrictions may be required as the R number isn’t under 1.

Those in Dail need to stand up against Holohan for once and for all and allow Irish people to live their life without the cloud of a possible lockdown over them on a daily basis. We’ve had enough of Holohan and his cohorts, let them go back behind the scenes where they belong.

Tony, if you’re listening – we’ve had enough, it’s time for you to go.
