The battle against the Covid-19 virus will be a “long war” that could go on for many years the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said on Friday evening, suggesting that restrictions of basic liberties and measures designed to coerce people into taking more doses of the experimental Covid-19 jab could go on indefinitely.
The Tánaiste made the proclamation as the government announced new restrictions to stem the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, which is reported to be a mild strain of the disease that passes quickly and has had at most one death attributed to it.
Worryingly, with new variants of the virus likely to emerge regularly, just like the Flu, governments will have free reign to strip citizens of rights and freedoms and implement and ever more controlled and Orwellian society many commentators have warned.
Often times, before tyrannical societies come truly into being, the leaders of these societies use the threat of war as justification for their actions. Men like Micheál Martin and Leo Varadkar would never partake in a real war for anything or anyone, they are sleeveen politicians of the lowest order, but they may spin a virus with a death rate of well below one percent as a war to justify their own nefarious ends.
As we see other countries implementing such Draconian measures over a virus that will persist regardless and in particular, over a variant that appears to be even less dangerous, one must ask themselves, what is the real agenda here?
