Oprah Winfrey has denied rumours that her home was raided by police and that she was arrested for sex trafficking.
Last Tuesday the ground-breaking talk show host and media mogul was trending on Twitter after rumours circulated that she along with a number of other celebrities had been arrested for alleged involvement in child sex trafficking.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday Oprah dismissed the rumours stating
“Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE. Haven’t been raided, or arrested. Just sanitizing and self distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody.”
The rumours spreading online have been fuelled by revelations in recent years about the scope of sex abuse among the rich, powerful and famous.
