RTE’s Vivienne Traynor and Johnny Paradise spoke about their personal organ donations on last night’s Ray D’Arcy Show.
Vivienne donated a kidney to her nephew, Martin, while Johnny decided to donate to a unknown donar when he saw Joe Brolly’s documentary about his experience.
It’s a conversion that many families don’t want to have, but it’s very important. The person isn’t around to say what they want, but it’s important to have a chat about it and not just carry a card”.
The advice was simple, get a card but it’s still not enough – tell everyone what you want and God forbid, at least that tough decision is out of the way.
