Fire fighters battling the major blaze at Notre Dame Cathedral are effectively working hard to salvage priceless artifacts at the ancient cathedral.
According to reports in France, the Paris city mayor Emmanuel Gregoire, has said the iconic cathedral has suffered colossal damage following the fire this evening.
It is reported that the fire is largely under control, but it is believed that its wooden interior is still burning.
Although thankfully no injuries have been reported, the cathedral has suffered major damage due to the fire – with its infamous spire and roof collapsing due to immense heat.
Officals have added that virtually nothing will remain from its frame.
