In what can only be described as a major backlash, angry viewers of last night’s RTE Prime Time documentary, took to Facebook and Twitter to show their disgust at what they saw.
Disabled women, some of whom were older women, were viciously shouted at, dragged, thrown, pushed, jeered and even cruel punished.
Some viewers found the footage too hard and distressing to watch. Others call for a “name and shame” process to begin.
One Facebook user commented on TheLiberal.ie website:
“How can people be so evil. It’s beyond words. Those poor women, I just wanted to jump into my television and help them. Those staff forget that one day they themselves will be old.”
