If you think that voting out Fine Gael to be replaced by Fianna Fail will do much difference, well, it appears that you’d be sadly mistaken.
Instead of prioritising 10,000 homeless Irish people sleeping rough around the country, Fianna Fail have the great idea of bringing in more migrants – this time into your actual house.
Fianna Fail’s Jim O’Callaghan was speaking in the Dail to Fine Gael’s David Stanton on Thursday and proposed that Irish families take in asylum seekers into their own home and get paid to do so by the Irish State.
“People could be paid for taking in and putting up a small family or individuals who are seeking asylum for a limited period. Obviously, they would need to be very carefully vetted. It is an option that we need to consider.”
It’s understood that there has been an increase of more than 50% by migrants who want to live in Ireland, something that the government say they need many more direct provision centres to accommodate the numbers of migrants that they want coming in.
