Over 150,000 British holidaymakers left stranded as Thomas Cook ceases trading




One of the UK’s biggest and most recognised holiday agents Thomas Cook has ceased trading over night it has been revealed.

According to reports in the UK, the 178 year old holiday firm collapsed after it failed to secure £200m to save the company.

The collapse of the company which has now led to alternative arrangements being made to bring home some 150,000 British holidaymakers.

It is now believed that a number of chartered flights have been sent to destinations across the world as the British Government and the Civil Aviation Authority now look to bring stranded holidaymakers home.

The company’s collapse has been described as deeply regrettable and the British transport minister has called for customers with the holiday company to remain calm.

It is expected that stranded customers will be flown back to the UK beginning from today.
