Gardai say more than 400 fines have been issued for travel restriction breaches over the past week.
Although Gardai say that there has been high rate of compliance on regards to Covid-19 travel restrictions, they do say that there has unfortunately been some instances were the public have been caught travelling further than 5km from their home.
Gardai say they have issued more than 400 on the spot fans since the regulations came into force on January 11th.
They say over 100 fines were issued in Co Wicklow over the weekend with more than 200 motorists being asked to turn back.
Gardai are urging the public to follow public health guidelines during the current Level 5 restrictions.
