Overcrowding continues today, with almost 500 people on trolleys across Ireland.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), there are 489 patients languishing on trolleys in Irish hospitals.
The catch to this lower number in comparison to last week’s is that the decrease is not due to any particular effort or improvement on the HSE’s part, it’s simply the result of people being discharged en masse to make room for the next tranche of bodies.
