A man and a woman in the UK have been jailed after they accessed footage of the mortuary where footballer Emiliano Sala’s body was examined.
According to Sky News, Sherry Bray and Christopher Ashford, have been imprisoned after photos of Mr Sala’s body appeared on social media earlier this year.
The pair were accused of accessing footage of Mr Sala’s post-mortem examination before taking a screenshot which was then sent to Bray’s daughter via Facebook messenger before it was widely shared on social media.
Sky News reports that Bray was sentenced to 14 months behind bars at Swindon Crown Court, whilst Ashford recieved a five month prison sentence.
The sentencing comes after Mr Sala was killed when the plane he was travelling in crashed in the English Channel in January this year.
Sala who had just signed for Cardiff City FC was also travelling with pilot David Ibbotson whose body has never been recovered.
