Parents are being urged to be on alert as a crazy social media game which encourages children and teenagers to light themselves on fire has seen a recent surge.
According to The Mirror newspaper, the so called ‘Fire Challenge’ game has led to great concern amongst medical professionals at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, Wales.
It is understood that plastic surgeons working at the hospital have become concerned given the number of cases presenting at the hospital.
Meanwhile many in the medical profession have also reported a rise in cases since the craze started back in 2014 with many children needing plastic surgery for third degree burns.
It is believed the craze which originated in the US encourages children and teenagers to purposely set themselves fire and record the footage before posting it online.
Doctors are urging parents to monitor their children’s online activities as the highly dangerous game could lead to serious injuries or even worse a loss of life.
