A Garda investigation is underway after a group of vandals wearing balaclavas and armed with knives and pieces of wood vandalised a train in North Dublin on Tuesday night.
According to Dublin Live, the attack which resulted in €4,000 worth of damage to the train occured at Clongriffin Train Station in north Dublin at approximatley 10:30pm on Tuesday night.
The paper states that a number of passengers were left frightened by the attack after a number of people stood in front of the train doors in order to prevent the train from moving.
Although thankfully there were no reported casualties in the incident, Irish Rail say the train was badly damaged in the attack.
It is believed the group believed to be graffiti artists sprayed the train as other passengers were left to watch on.
In a brief statement released earlier today Irish Rail say they are currently in liason with the Gardai and investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
