A large number of civil servants are in line for substantial pay rises, as the economy enters its upward trend before the inevitable downward slope.
The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform recently approved the pay increases, which will benefit nurses, midwives, firefighters, and many other public sector workers.
The deal was introduced as an extension to the current Landsdowne Road Agreement, which will run until 2020.
