Penneys have announced that they are going to open a new shop in the Dundrum Shopping Centre, one that will increase the size of the current store.
According to RTE, the new store will increase the current retail space by 64%, to an area of 60,000 square feet. It is hoped that the store will be ready to open in early Summer 2023 and with that in mind the work is due to start this Autumn.
A spokesperson for Penneys has said that the plan is for the current Dundrum store to remain open while the work is taking place. Given this announcement, it is clear that the presence of Penneys in the Irish market is extremely important to the company.
The Head of Penneys ROI and NI, has said that Dundrum is a very important location for the company:
“Increasing the size of the store means we can offer a much wider selection right across fashion, beauty and homewares. We have big plans and great ideas around how we bring our unique in-store design to life for our Dundrum customers, and we look forward to opening early next summer.”
The news will be very welcome for customers. Penneys is a very popular store and long queues formed outside stores nationwide when they opened after the lockdown was lifted.
