People Power: Gov backs down slightly on masks in schools as no child will be excluded in what say is “major win for those fighting for return of rights and freedoms in Ireland”

People power has scored a victory after the government on Monday announced an embarrassing turn around on the enforcement of mask mandates in school.

Following countless protests and irate parents, teachers and medical experts bombarding the government and TDs emails, phone calls and letters to express disapproval of the new measures the Department of Education revised instructions to schools to exclude children who do not wear a mask.

The revised document from the Department of Health takes the form of Frequently Asked Questions.

It states that where a child presents without a face mask or covering, “schools will engage pragmatically and sensitively with parents” and that where such engagement fails the Department of Education will provide further support RTE reported.

The victory has given strength and encouragement to those fighting to return basic rights and freedoms to the Irish people regardless of their personal medical decisions.
