Around 10,000 people aged 16 to 69 with underlying conditions are to start receiving their Covid-19 vaccine this week.
The start of vaccinations for people within this group was confirmed by the HSE Chief Executive Paul Reid.
Speaking about the roll-out, Reid said the HSE is currently working through a list of those who are considered high risk and it is expected that 150,000 people will be offered a vaccine.
The start of the vaccination process will see those with neurological issues and disabilities receive the vaccine this week.
