One of the country’s leading banks Permament TSB have reached an agreement to repay an unlucky couple €60,000 after they were unfairly overcharged by the bank.
It is believed the bank will also pay an additional €6,000 to the couple in compensation as a gesture of goodwill after their misfortune. Management at TSB say they welcome the agreement which was made with the couple recently, the bank also say they would like to offer a sincere apology for their mistake. The payment comes after a number of cases came before the courts after the Central Bank investigation discovered that over 1,000 customers had been wrongly overcharged by the bank.
A spokesperson for the bank issued a statement welcoming the decision saying they were happy with the outcome, they also said they would happily compensate anyone who was overcharged by the bank.
