Phil Hogan says he had no option but to resign and states that he wasn’t given a due process

The former European Commissioner Phil Hogan has said that he has no intention to return to politics following the events of the Oireachtas Golf society event.

Speaking to The Kilkenny People, Hogan said that he has no desire to return to politics either at home nor internationally.

Hogan who resigned from his role last month told The Kilkenny People that although he made mistakes in terms of interpretation of the Covid-19 restrictions, he reiterated that he broke no laws.

Hogan also told the paper that he had no option but to resign following immense pressure from the Taoiseach, Tanaiste and the media.

He added that he feels that he was treated unfairly and wasn’t given a fair due process which most Irish people expect in the right forum.
