This past week has been a mix of highs and lows for Irish Olympic athletes but two of our silver medallists got together to celebrate their resounding success recently.
The two Irish silver medallists of Annalise Murphy and Gary O’Donovan recently uploaded the above picture showcasing their happiness after their historic success in Rio.
The photo which was uploaded to Facebook by Annalise was followed by a short message by the sailing sliver medalist in which she said, she was still shell-shocked from her win:
“This is a dream come true, not only for me but for everyone who has helped me get to this point over the last eight years! Thank you everyone for the amazing support, it means the world to me.”
“Still in shock, but so proud to be Irish,” she continued.
