The discovery of a pipe bomb in the North Queen Street area of Belfast caused a massive security operation earlier today.
Bomb disposal teams carried out a controlled explosion, and the device was removed for a forensic examination.
PSNI Detective Inspector Mary White said: “This incident has caused massive inconvenience, disruption and upset for the local community of North Belfast and I would like to thank the members of the public for their patience and co-operation during the operation this morning.”
The area has since been deemed secure.
