Road carnage continues unabated today, after a man in his 40s sadly lost his life in a road crash in west Cork earlier this morning.
The accident occurred on the N71 Bandon to Clonakilty Road, near Gaggin, shortly before 7am. It is understood that the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch. No other car or vehicle was involved.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and Gardai are investigating the possibility that the man may have fallen ill just before the crash.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
