The ESB have confirmed that charges will be placed on their public charging points for electric cars.
In an announcement, the company said that they will be placing charges on chargers around the country.
Although prices won’t be confirned until September, the utility say electric vehicle owners will be informed in advance before the charges are introduced.
They added that the charges will be considerably cheaper than the cost of running a petrol or diesel car.
The ESB currently have in the region of 1,100 public charging points around the country.
