Police in the UK have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a 12-year-old girl was attacked on Sunday night.
According to Sky News, the boy’s arrest comes after police were called at 3:30am to investigate an alleged rape at Richmond Height Woods, in Sheffield.
Officers investigating the incident say a large cordon was put in place in the area following the report, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested a short time later.
They added that the girl is currently recieving consular assistance from specialist officers.
