Police foil 3,000 teenagers from holding “the biggest hide and seek game ever” in Ikea store

Police in Glasgow were called to the main Ikea store in the city after staff became aware that up to 3,000 teenagers were planning to go to the store at 3pm last Saturday.

A Facebook group called “The biggest hide and seek game ever” saw over 3,000 teenagers connected to it and the start time was 3pm last Saturday in a 300,000 sq ft Ikea store in Glasgow.

Participants were advised to “hide” under beds, in fridges, in wardrobes and even in baths with the “winner” the last person to be found.

Police say that they sent a number of officiers to the store prior to the planned event. Large groups of teenagers appeared near the store with some getting inside but no “game” ensued.

The Facebook group has since been deleted with police saying that they’re monitoring the situation.
