Police in Belfast launch an Investigation after a house was set a blaze with a woman and three young children inside




Police in the North have launched an investigation after a house was set on fire Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is understood the house which contained a woman and three young girls, was set a blaze after flammable liquids were poured through the letterbox of the front door.

PSNI are appealing for any information in regards to the arson attack which occurred at approximately 6.20am at a house on Ormeau Embankment.

Thankfully the woman, aged in her 30’s, and the three young girls who were in the house at the time were not injured, although they were left badly shaken by their ordeal.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Natalie McNally has appealed for anyone who was in the area of Ormeau Embankment on Sunday morning and may have witnessed the incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 315 of 13/08/16.
