Police in the North, are investigating a reported stabbing incident in the Imperial Street region of East Belfast.
It is understood that a man in his 40s was out with his dog at 2am this morning when he was approached by another man wearing a black hooded top. The was then reportedly stabbed in his back and then had the knife to his throat.
The PSNI say a scuffle then broke out and the assailant made off on foot. The victim was then taken to hospital and treated for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The PSNI also say they recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack for forensic examination.
