The police officer who shot and killed a man she thought was an intruder has been held on manslaughter charges.
According to the official version, the officer got off the elevator on the wrong floor. She found the apartment door unlocked and saw someone inside. Thinking it was an intruder in her apartment, she opened fire, killing 26-year-old Botham Shem Jean, an African-American immigrant.
The police officer, named as Amber Guyger, is now facing a charge of manslaughter.
