Police seize 10 pups as part of illegal Irish dog breeding operation




Police and customs officials have seized another 10 puppies as part of investigation into illegal dog breeding.

It is understood the latest litter of Cocker Spaniels, Shih Tzus and Bichon Frise were discovered by authorities on Monday night in Cairnyan ferry port in Scotland. The recovery of the young pups was made after a joint operation was undertaken by animal protection officers in Scotland and Ireland, customs, ferry operators and other UK and Irish authorities.

Reports say the latest litter of pups were thought to have originated in Co Louth and were being sent back to Ireland.
