Political correctness is quickly descending into the realms of utter ridiculousness, after it emerged that a British fire service dropped the lovable children TV character Fireman Sam as its mascot because Sam is but a male, therefore not ‘inclusive enough.’
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service will no longer use Fireman Sam after receiving complaints that Sam represented an ‘all male’ organization.
Instead, Lincolnshire will use two unidentifiable, genderless things that resemble a cross between the Cookie Monster and a post box for its promotional material.
