With the new law proposed to be passed in the Dail in the coming weeks, L-Drivers will be off the road by themselves and will have to have someone with a full licence accompany them in the car. If they do not have someone with them, they run the risk of a €2,000 fine and the owner of the vehicle who lets them drive could face six months in prison. But is it fair? Is it fair to people who work and have a provisional, are going to college, are looking for work, need medication etc – basically anyone on a provisional?
