In his brief life, the Italian adolescent utilised his computer abilities to promote Catholicism, earning him the title of first saint of the millennial generation, and to which Pope Francis has credited a second miracle, reports RTE.

Carlo Acutis, nicknamed “God’s influencer” unofficially, passed away in 2006 at the age of 15 from leukaemia.

He was raised in Milan, where he managed a Vatican-based academy and then his parish website. He was born in London, reports RTE.

According to a statement, Pope Francis made the choice at a meeting with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, the director of the Vatican’s saint-making division.

2020 saw Carlo’s beatification following the attribution of one miracle, reports RTE.
