There could be a potential breakthrough in negotiations to avert further stoppages by nursing staff across the country as the Labour Court have intervened.
According to RTÉ News, a proposal could be submitted before both parties this evening in attempt to halt strike action later this week.
Although a recommendation is expected, it might not be enough to stop the strike action in time as both nurses unions and the Government would have to agree to the offer.
It is understood that both parties have been summoned to appear before the Labour Court once again in order to reach an overall agreement.
The latest developments come after talks between both parties came to an unsuccessful conclusion at the Labour Court in the early hours of this morning.
