If you happen to be a fan of English soccer your day is about to get a whole lot better because broadcaster Sky Sports have just announced that from next season 2016/2017 they will exclusively show a record 159 Premier League matches to the Republic of Ireland only.
The staggering new sea will delight many fans as it has been reported that the new deal will run till 2018-19 season, the new package will include all games that are regularly broadcast on Sunday’s along with Monday night football and 33 Saturday 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League each season. The news marks a big step in BSkyB’s attempt to provide a better satellite subscription service in the Republic of Ireland, the news of the deal will most likely make our neighbours across the water fairly jealous because broadcasters in Britain are currently barred from televising Saturday afternoon games live.
The news will most likely be welcomed by many current Sky costumers here as they currently feel they are being unfairly overcharged for their current subscription service.
