President Trump slams Zelensky as “a dictator” and wants the “gravy train” of US money to continue

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has been called “a dictator without elections” by US President Donald Trump, who has warned that he “better move fast” to establish a peace or he would lose his nation, reports RTE.

Hours after Mr. Zelensky retaliated to his assertion that Ukraine was behind Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Mr. Trump said the US president was ensnared in a Russian misinformation campaign.

“A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left,” Mr Trump wrote on his Truth Social media platform, reports RTE.

“Modestly successful comedian” is how Mr. Trump described Mr. Zelensky in his tweet, accusing him of having “talked the US into spending $350 billion dollars, to go into a war that couldn’t be won, that never had to start,” reports RTE.

He added: “The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand equalization, in that this war is far more important to Europe than it is to us – We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelensky admits that half of the money we sent him is ‘MISSING'”, reports RTE.

He claimed that “playing Biden ‘like a fiddle'” was the only skill the Ukrainian president possessed.

Mr. Trump stated that they were “successfully negotiating an end to the war with Russia, something all admit only ‘TRUMP,’ and the Trump Administration, can do” .

He went on to say, “Biden never tried.” “Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelensky probably wants to keep the ‘gravy train’ going,” reports RTE.

Despite his fondness for Ukraine, Mr. Trump claimed that the country’s leadership had done a “terrible job”.

“His Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died,” he stated, reports RTE.

“It is simply wrong and dangerous to deny President Zelensky his democratic legitimacy,” Mr Scholz said, reports RTE.

According to a US official, French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with Mr. Trump at the White House the following week.

A day after Mr. Trump stated that Ukraine “should never have started” the war with Russia, Mr. Zelensky, who met with Mr. Trump’s Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg in Kyiv, stated that he would like Mr. Trump’s team to know “more truth” about Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader claimed that any attempt to overthrow Mr. Trump would fail and that his claim that his support rating was below 4% was Russian misinformation, reports RTE.

“We have proof that Russia and the United States are discussing these numbers.

“That is, President Trump…unfortunately lives in this disinformation space,” Mr. Zelensky said to Ukrainian television, reports RTE.

According to a recent survey conducted in early February by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, 57% of Ukrainians have faith in Mr. Zelensky.
