Republican candidate Donald Trump is not one to shy away from inflammatory rhetoric or stirring controversy. His antics and views on foreigners, particularly Mexicans, are well known.
But now, he has gone one step further and asked the dying to cling on for long enough, so they can vote for him.
Speaking at a rally in the crucial battleground of Nevada, he said: “I say kiddingly, but I mean it. I don’t care how sick you are.
“I don’t care if you just came back from the doctor and he gave you the worst possible prognosis, meaning: it’s over – you won’t be around in two weeks.
“It doesn’t matter – hang on until 8 November, get out and vote. All we’re going to say is we love you and we will remember you always.”
“Get out and vote.”
After casting their vote, one presumes they can go home and die in peace.
