Prince Harry warned that he “didn’t want history to repeat itself” in a second teaser clip released today, which features photos and videos of Meghan Markle and Princess Diana.

In the clip, Harry says: “The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy. I was terrified, I didn’t want history to repeat itself. No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth,” reports Metro.

As he speaks, footage shows his mother facing paparazzi outside Buckingham Palace, linking this to the media coverage Meghan faced after marrying Harry.

These clips have already come under fire after it emerged that old news footage was being used to show photographers harassing Harry and Meghan.

What the producers actually used was live coverage of the press trying to get shots of Donald Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, getting out of prison.

The first episode of the ‘global event’ will come out on Thursday and feature commentary from friends and family.

Netflix says that most of the contributors had never before spoken publicly about what they witnessed.

Historians will also discuss the current state of the British Commonwealth and the royal family’s relationship with the press.

“The series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other,” a Netflix spokesperson said, reports Metro.
