High street fashion retailer River Island has issued an urgent recall notice for a number of products due to safety concerns.
The affected products are believed to contain excessive levels of cadmium and lead, both dangerous chemicals that pose serious health hazards.
The items in question are:
Product No. 714210: River Island premium embellished tassel playsuit.
Product No. 720271: River Island sequin embellished cami top.
Product No. 725642: River Island long-line diamante studded hoody in cream.
Product No. 723969: River Island check pattern dress with faux pearl button.
Product No. 723975: River Island check pattern sleeveless blouse with faux pearl button.
It is understood that these products first went on sale in 2018. River Island highlights the dangers of continuous exposure to the chemicals mentioned above, so it’s urging customers to stop wearing these items immediately and return them for a full refund.
