The former Cranberries singer will be prosecuted for assault charges arising from the alleged air rage incident which took place in Shannon Airport last year.

The charges put to her include assaulting two airport police officers and one member of the Gardai.

After being arrested at the airport, Ms. O’Riordan was taken to Shannon Garda Station and held in custody. While in the holding cell, she engaged in odd behaviour like singing and shouting.

Her state of mind at the time of the incident is likely to prominently feature during the legal proceedings.

Ms. O’Riordan will appear at Ennis District Court at a later date this year. If found guilty, she may be fined up to €1,850 or given a maximum of six months in jail.
