Gardai are appealing for help after an evil thug aged in his 20s attacked a woman in her 70s at a bus stop in Newgrove Avenue, Sandymount,shortly before 7pm on Friday night.
The thug tried to take the woman’s handbag and when she resisted, the coward got violent.
The coward ran off after a struggle and the lady was later taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.
Gardaí say they are urging anyone who may have been at the bus stop on Newgrove Avenue on Friday night or anyone with any information to contact them at Irishtown Garda Station on 01-66-69-600, the Confidential Line 1800 66-61-11 or any garda station.
