There’s been mixed reactions to a haridresser being offered €150 to give a blowdry in her house to clients.
The Liberal spoke with a hairdresser, whose first name is Sharon, and has been offered big money to give a blowdry in her house.
However some people are saying that it’s selfish to take such money for a blowdry during lockdown while others are saying that she’s fully entitled to do a bit of work if she can and that it won’t endanger anyone other than the two people in question.
A woman’s blowdry can cost anything between €20 to €40 depending on where you go and where you live in the country.
However, with the lockdown restrictions, it appears as though hairdressers and barbers may not be opened for weeks as the unwinding takes a staged approach.
The Liberal spoke with one Dublin hairdresser who told us that she’s been approached by numerous women over the past number of weeks via Facebook messenger and whatsapp offering her big money to get a haircut, colour and blowdry.
“Yeah, I’ve been offered crazy money. I’ve cut my family’s hair and my best friend but so far not any regular customer’s hair. One girl offered me €150 for just a blowdry over the weekend. I couldn’t do it this weekend but I think I will do it after Tuesday once the lockdown starts to lift”.
“I think it’s not fair really. We can easily open if we use PPE and don’t let too many in at the same time”.
