The summer of 1990 will never be forgotten by people who were old enough to remember and enjoy it.
The former Rep. of Ireland manager Jack Charlton’s family announced that the legend passed away, aged 85, on Friday.
Charlton, a former Leeds and England defender, had recently been diagnosed with lymphoma and was also battling dementia.
He become the best loved Englishman in Ireland from what he did with that spectacular team. Tributes have flooded in from around the world following his passing.
It’s been noted that Jack Charlton and that 1990 World Cup team helped kick-start the economic boom that Ireland started to see shortly afterwards. Watch the video below:
